International Conference to Advance a PHIR Agenda - March 2012
The Canadian Institutes of Health Research and the Center for Community Health Development co-hosted the International Conference to Advance a Population Health Research Agenda March 26-27, 2012 in Montreal, QC. The conference looked at interventions in complex systems with a focus on community interventions.

Population Health Intervention Research Workshop - November-December 2010
Population Health Intervention Research Initiative for Canada (PHIRIC) and the Canadian Institutes of Health Research-Institute of Population and Public Health (CIHR-IPPH) hosted a symposium in Toronto on November 29-30, 2010 titled Accelerating Population Health Intervention Research to Promote Health Equity. The symposium raised issues related to PHIR methodology including the advantages and disadvantages of different study designs. A workshop was hosted immediately following the symposium on December 1. The workshop, titled Stimulating Methodological and Theoretical Innovation in PHIR, brought together researchers from Canada, the US, the UK, France and Australia.
