International Development Research Centre (IDRC)
The International Development Research Centre (IDRC) funds research in the Global South to promote growth, reduce poverty, and drive large-scale positive change. As part of Canada’s foreign affairs and development efforts, we are a Crown corporation that provides leading thinkers the resources, advice, and training they need to implement and share their solutions with those who need them most. In short, IDRC increases opportunities — and makes a real difference in people’s lives.
Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC)
NSERC aims to make Canada a country of discoverers and innovators for the benefit of all Canadians. The agency supports students in their advanced studies, promotes and supports discovery research, and fosters innovation by encouraging Canadian organizations to participate and invest in postsecondary research projects.
Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC)
SSHRC is the federal research funding agency that promotes and supports postsecondary-based research and research training in the humanities and social sciences. Through its Talent, Insight and Connection programs, and through partnerships and collaborations, SSHRC strategically supports world-leading initiatives that reflect a commitment to ensuring a better future for Canada and the world.

Michael Smith Foundation for Health Research
The Michael Smith Foundation for Health Research (MSFHR) is British Columbia's health research funding agency.
Funded by the Province of BC, MSFHR helps develop, retain and recruit the talented people whose research improves the health of British Columbians, addresses health system priorities, creates jobs and adds to the knowledge economy.
New Brunswick Health Research Foundation
The New Brunswick Health Research Foundation (NBHRF) was created in July 2008 with a mandate to co-ordinate, support and promote health research in New Brunswick. Our vision is a healthy and prosperous New Brunswick through excellence in health research and innovation. Our mission is to provide leadership and support to build health research capacity, improve the health of New Brunswickers and advance the knowledge economy.
The NBHRF is an independent organization governed by a board of directors comprised of key stakeholders from the health research community in New Brunswick. Funding is provided by the Province of New Brunswick.
Saskatchewan Health Research Foundation
Saskatchewan Health Research Foundation (SHRF) funds, supports and promotes the impact of health research that matters to Saskatchewan. SHRF works to strengthen research capacity and competitiveness, increase the investment in health research in Saskatchewan and align research with the needs of our stakeholders. Research Manitoba
Research Manitoba promotes, supports, and coordinates the funding of research excellence and innovation in health, natural and social sciences, engineering and the humanities in Manitoba. Research Manitoba supports local talent development by providing research support to early career researchers and graduate students, along with fostering strategic partnerships to strengthen research and innovation in Manitoba.
