On March 25th 2021, I was very pleased to represent the Canadian Institutes of Health Research in a virtual announcement of the funding for the Netherlands-Canada Type 2 Diabetes Research Consortium, entitled TIMED: The Right Timing to Prevent Type 2 Diabetes.  Participants in this event included the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Health, Jennifer O’Connell (bottom left), President of The Netherlands Organisation for Health Research and Development (ZonMw), Jeroen Geurts (bottom centre), Chairman of the Advisory Board of Health~Holland, Marcel Joachimsthal (bottom right), and two patient partners Erik Werson (top right) and Lucie Vaillancourt (middle right).  Congratulations to the two co-Principal Investigators, Dr. Andre Carpentier, Professor, Canada Research Chair on Molecular Imaging of Diabetes, Université de Sherbrooke and researcher, Centre de recherche du CHUS (top left) and Dr. Patrick Schrauwen Professor of Metabolic Aspects of Type 2 Diabetes, Maastricht University (top centre) for their success in this competition.
