How the CIHR Institute of Cancer Research's Research Priority Plan is leveraging cancer research
Cancer remains the leading cause of death in Canada, and unfortunately, has impacted virtually every Canadian in some way. The CIHR Institute of Cancer Research (CIHR-ICR) has launched its new Research Priority Plan 2024-2029 "Amplifying Impact: Leveraging Cancer Research to Enhance the Health of Canadians".
Shaped by the cancer research community, the plan outlines a five-year path towards strengthening and sustaining Canada's world-class cancer research landscape through CIHR-ICR's roles as a funder, convenor and catalyst. The RPP also features three new research priorities focused on cancer prevention, cancer survivorship, and cancer data strategy to combat the rising rate in cancer diagnoses, support the growing number of Canadians living with and beyond cancer, and accelerate cancer research discovery and innovation.
