Open Knowledge Translation Pilot Competitions (2013-2016) – Peer Review Manual – Long Descriptions
Figure 1
This figure illustrates the two-stage adjudication process for the Project Scheme Pilots.
Stage 1 assesses the Concept and Feasibility of the project. Applicants submit their Stage 1 application, which is matched to five expert reviewers. Reviewers complete the Stage 1 remote review and submit their results to CIHR.
The Final Assessment Stage involves pre-meeting activities and a face-to-face committee meeting. This committee will make recommendations on which applications to fund.
Figure 4
This figure illustrates the Pre-meeting Assessment placed into groupings.
CIHR will rank all the applications moving to the Final Assessment Stage in order from highest to lowest. The sort criteria will be the number of "Yes" votes received, and the secondary sort criteria will be based on the Stage 1 results. CIHR will place the applications into three groups: Group A will include applications that the majority of committee members recommended should be funded; Group B will include applications for discussion at the meeting; and, Group C will include applications that the majority of committee members recommended should not be funded.
An estimated funding cut-off line will be displayed within the list of Group B applications and will be calculated using the available budget for the competition and the cumulative total of the budgets requested in the grant applications.
