Transforming Health with Integrated Care

The Transforming Health with Integrated Care (THINC) research initiative aims to improve our understanding of how to implement, evaluate, adapt and/or spread and scale (share) evidence-informed integrated care policies and interventions that encompass intersectoral collaborations within and/or beyond the formal health care delivery system in order to advance the Quadruple Aim and health equity. THINC is led by CIHR’s Institute of Health Services and Policy Research, in collaboration with many CIHR institutes and initiatives as well as provincial and federal partners.

Key objectives

Generate actionable evidence regarding which innovations, policies, and/or system solutions are successful in achieving transformative integrated care.

Develop capacity for actionable and solution-oriented research through supporting policy analysis, interdisciplinary research teams, and/or embedded research models.

Mobilize knowledge for impactful, sustainable, and equitable uptake of transformative integrated care to achieve the Quadruple Aim goals and health equity.

Foster strong collaborations and partnerships across researchers, policymakers, decision-makers, healthcare providers, patients, and communities in Canada with the unified goal to transform our healthcare systems.
